An aperture device has a base plate (3) with a lens opening (4), a first small aperture sector (10) with a first small aperture hole (13) and a second small aperture sector (20) with a second small hole (23) that vary the magnitude of an aperture by shielding the lens opening (4), and a drive pin (5) engaging cam grooves (12, 22) respectively formed in the first and second small aperture sectors (10, 20) and causing the first and second small aperture sectors to pivot. When the drive pin (5) is at an initial position, the first and second small aperture sectors are at shelter positions sheltered from the lens opening. The cam grooves of the first and second small aperture sectors each have a pivot region where one sector is guided to the lens opening according to movement of the drive pin that moves from the initial position and have a non-pivot region where, when the other sector is guided to the lens opening, the one sector is held at the shelter position.
