Abstract:

For the purpose of repairing or reinforcing a pipe (31) which is mostly buried underground, such as a gas pipe, a water pipe or a sewer pipe, a cylindrical lining material (30) is applied to the inner surface thereof. This invention relates to an apparatus for boring that portion of the lining material (30) which closes an opening provided in a branching portion of the pipe (31) at which a branch pipe (33) extends from the pipe (31). This invention includes a method of mounting a television camera (8) which is used to produce an image of a front end portion of a borer (28), a method of mounting the borer (28) on the main body (9) of the apparatus, a method of driving the borer (28), and an improved blade of the borer (28), which is used to bore the lining material.
