Abstract:
The present invention relates to an apparatus (1) for the disinfection/sterilization and cleaning of banknotes comprising a substantially hollow body (2) having an inner wall at least partially reflecting, opposing inlet (5) and outlet (6) openings for banknotes, a path (7) comprised between the inlet (5) and outlet (6) openings inside the body (2), handling means (8) combined with the path (7) for handling banknotes from the inlet opening (5) to the outlet opening (6), disinfection/sterilization means of the banknotes comprising at least one UV radiation source (9) arranged over the path (7) and at least one UV radiation source (9) arranged under the path (7), and cleaning means of the banknotes comprising at least one brush (10) active along the path (7).
