Abstract:

It is intended to provide an apparatus for continuously producing polyisocyanate by supplying polyamine and carbonyl chloride and quickly contacting them to inhibit an undesirable side reaction between polyamine and polyisocyanate so that a by-product can be lessened and the yield of polyisocyanate can be elevated. Within a circulatory line (7), a material-mixing part (8), a high-shear pump (3), a reactor (4), a liquid-feeding pump (5) and a cooling unit (6) are successively provided along the flow of a liquid reaction mixture, thereby forming a closed line. In this apparatus (1), polyamine and carbonyl chloride are fed into the material-mixing part (8) and then the liquid reaction mixture is sheared by the high-shear pump (3) while minimizing the contact of polyamine with the liquid reaction mixture. Thus, the formation of an urea compound as a by-product can be suppressed and the yield of polyisocyanate can be elevated.
