Abstract:
The present invention relates to an apparatus for controlling an energy storage system (ESS) according to a transient stability state and a method thereof. An apparatus for controlling an ESS according to a transient stability state according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises: an input unit for inputting phase angle information from each power generator; a calculation unit for calculating a phase angle variations between each two power generators, using the input phase angle information of each power generator; a determination unit for determining a transient stability state by comparing each of the calculated phase angle variations between each two power generators with a predetermined threshold; and a control unit for controlling an ESS, installed on the side of a power generation end, into a charging mode according to a determination result.
