Abstract:
Provided are: a cooling water injection control apparatus for a rolling mill, whereby variation in flow rate characteristics of a water injection header is less likely to exert an effect; and a cooling water injection control method. This cooling water injection control apparatus for a rolling mill is provided with an injection quantity control unit for controlling a plurality of injection headers so that the temperature of a rolled material on the outlet side of the rolling mill matches a target temperature, wherein, when any one flow rate from among the plurality of injection headers is less than a transition flow rate between a minimum flow rate and a maximum flow rate, the injection quantity control unit controls the any one flow rate from among the plurality of injection headers in accordance with a priority so that each of the plurality of injection headers is not injecting or is injecting at a flow rate between the minimum flow rate and the transition flow rate, and, when the flow rate of each of the plurality of injection headers is equal to or greater than the transition flow rate, the injection quantity control unit controls the flow rates of the plurality of injection headers simultaneously so that each of the plurality of headers injects at a flow rate between the transition flow rate and the maximum flow rate.
