Title:
APPARATUS FOR CONTROLLING PFM OPERATION OF DC-DC BUCK CONVERTER BY USING INTERNAL PARASITIC VOLTAGE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2019/216486
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an apparatus for controlling a PFM operation of a DC-DC buck converter by using an internal parasitic voltage, the apparatus implementing a PFM-mode operation by indirectly measuring a load current through measurement of a voltage (VERR) parasitically generated inside a voltage-mode buck converter during implementation of the voltage-mode buck converter, and comprising: a compensator for indirectly measuring a load current by measuring an internal parasitic voltage (VERR), which is a voltage parasitically generated inside a DC-DC converter when the DC-DC converter operates as the voltage-mode buck converter; and a comparator for allowing an output internal parasitic voltage (VERR) of the compensator to be inputted in a non-inverted terminal (+) thereof and an output (fSAW) of a voltage-controlled triangular wave generator to be inputted in an inverted terminal (-) thereof such that the DC-DC converter operates in a PFM-mode.
