Abstract:
The present invention relates to an apparatus for controlling the speed of an electric bicycle and a method therefor. According to the present invention, by controlling the torque of a motor that drives a wheel so that the speed of the wheel follows the speed of the pedal driven by a user, and applying an assist level according to the torque of the motor to also control the torque of the pedal, there is an effect of giving, on a chainless electric bicycle, the same feeling of a pedal as on a bicycle with a chain, and enabling adjustment of a force applied to the pedal, according to the assist level.
