Abstract:
The present invention provides an apparatus for cooling the oral cavity using a cooling balloon, in which, by injecting cooling water to expand a balloon in a mouth, the balloon comes into contact with mucosal tissue in the oral cavity to cool the mucosal tissue in the oral cavity, and thus the occurrence of oral mucositis can be prevented, the apparatus comprising: a cooling water supply unit provided with a cooler for cooling cooling water and a pump for supplying and recovering the cooling water; a cooling water hose part which is coupled to the cooling water supply unit and via which supply cooling water is transferred and recovery cooling water is fed back into the cooling water supply unit; and a cooling balloon part which is coupled to an end portion of the cooling water hose part and which expands by the supply cooling water, after being inserted into the mouth of a patient, to cool the inside of the oral cavity of the patient, and contracts when the cooling water is fed back into the cooling water supply unit.
