[1] An apparatus for cutting steel plate by torch-blasted flames, comprising: a longitudinal guide plate which is placed on a steel plate and on the top side of which guide rail slots are formed along the forward-backward direction
(lengthwise direction); a CNC device which includes wheels on the bottom rotatable by a drive motor and which is freely moved in the forward-backward direction of the steel plate along the guide rail slots of said longitudinal guide plate and has a CNC control unit installed therein; a lateral guide bar mounted in said CNC device and installed movably to left or right centering on the CNC device; and a cutting torch installed on said lateral guide bar to move in the left-right direction (widthwise direction) of the steel plate along the lateral guide bar.
[2] The apparatus of Claim 1, wherein said cutting torch is installed on a torch support, and a moving plate is installed on said lateral guide bar movably to left or right along the lateral guide bar, and the torch support is pin-combined to the moving plate and installed rotatably centering on the pin, and an angle indicating graduation is marked on the top side of the moving plate, and the cutting torch is moved left or right along the lateral guide bar, so that angle adjustment is possible while being rotated.
[3] The apparatus of Claim 1, wherein a rack gear is formed along the left-right direction on the top side of said lateral guide bar, a mounting portion is formed in said CNC device for the lateral guide bar to be mounted to, a pinion gear corresponding to said rack gear is installed on the upper part of the mounting portion and is rotatable by a motor, so that the lateral guide bar can be moved to left or right centering on the CNC device by the rack and pinion gears that are in mesh with each other, and a plurality of rollers are installed on the upper part and lower part of the mounting portion for the left-right guide to move smoothly. |
Description
APPARATUS FOR CUTTING STEEL PLATE
Technical Field
[1] The present invention relates to an apparatus for cutting steel plate, and more specifically to an apparatus for cutting steel plate whereby the steel plate can be cut to a desired shape as the torch moves in the forward, backward, left or right direction according to CNC control signals on the steel plate to be cut. Background Art
[2] In general, one of the methods for cutting steel plate is the method in which the worker holds the cutting torch and directly cuts the H-shaped steel by hand. But such a method has a disadvantage in that it is not only inconvenient with low work workability but also it is difficult to cut accurately and the cutting surface is not smooth.
[3] Therefore, recently a cutting method using CNC (computer numerical control) is disclosed. An example of an automatic gas cutter is disclosed in Korean Patent Registration No. 610627. This cutter cuts metal plate while a cutting torch is transferred to left or right (i.e. in the widthwise direction) along a second transfer block, which is transferred along a first transfer block forward or backward (i.e. in the lengthwise direction).
[4] However the conventional automatic gas cutter disclosed in the above patent has a disadvantage in that the moving distance is limited when the cutting torch is moved forward or backward. Namely,an ordinary steel plate has a limited width and a long length in the forward and backward direction, so a conventional automatic gas cutter has a disadvantage that the moving distance is limited by the length of a first transfer block since cutting work is done while the cutting torch is moving forward or backward along the first transfer block. Therefore, it has an inconvenience that work has to be done again after the cutter is moved completely when the position of cutting goes beyond the first transfer block. Disclosure of Invention
Technical Problem
[5] The present invention is to solve such a conventional problem as mentioned above with an object to provide an apparatus for cutting steel plate in which the torch is moved in the left or right direction (widthwise direction) as much as the width of the steel plate to be cut by the torch, and by which steel plate can be cut as it is moved freely in the forward or backward direction (lengthwise direction) of the steel plate without its moving distance being limited by the length of the steel plate.
Technical Solution
[6] To achieve the above objects, there is provided an apparatus for cutting steel plate by torch-blasted flames, comprising a longitudinal guide plate which is placed on a steel plate and on the top side of which guide rail slots are formed along the forward- backward direction (lengthwise direction); a CNC device which includes wheels on the bottom rotatable by a drive motor and which is freely moved in the forward-backward direction of the steel plate along the guide rail slots of the longitudinal guide plate and has a CNC control unit installed therein; a lateral guide bar mounted in the CNC device and installed movably to left or right centering on the CNC device; and a cutting torch installed on the lateral guide bar to move in the left-right direction (widthwise direction) of the steel plate along the lateral guide bar.
[7] Preferably, the cutting torch is installed on a torch support, and a moving plate is installed on the lateral guide bar movably to left or right along the lateral guide bar, and the torch support is pin-combined to the moving plate and installed rotatably centering on the pin, and an angle indicating graduation is marked on the top side of the moving plate, and the cutting torch is moved left or right along the lateral guide bar, so that angle adjustment is possible while being rotated.
[8] Preferably, a rack gear is formed along the left-right direction on the top side of the lateral guide bar, a mounting portion is formed in the CNC device for the lateral guide bar to be mounted to, a pinion gear corresponding to the rack gear is installed on the upper part of the mounting portion and is rotatable by a motor, so that the lateral guide bar can be moved to left or right centering on the CNC device by the rack and pinion gears that are in mesh with each other, and a plurality of rollers are installed on the upper part and lower part of the mounting portion for the left-right guide to move smoothly.
Advantageous Effects
[9] According to the present invention, since the CNC device is moved forward or backward by wheels lengthwise of the steel plate in the present invention, it is possible to move freely lengthwise of the steel plate to be cut by the cutting torch without the moving distance being limited. In addition, because the lateral guide bar can be selectively moved left or right of the CNC device through rack and pinion gears in the present invention, it is possible to cut one plate into different left and right shapes. Further, it is also possible to cut obliquely the steel plate by adjusting the angle of the lateral cutting torch within a desired angle range. Brief Description of the Drawings

[21] Referring to Figs. 1 to 4, an apparatus for cutting steel plate according to the present invention comprises a longitudinal (i.e. forward-backward) guide plate 10, a CNC device 20 installed movably in the forward or backward direction (lengthwise direction) of a steel plate 1 along the guide plate 10, a lateral (i.e. left-right) guide bar 30 installed movably in the left or right direction on the CNC device 20, and a cutting
torch 40 installed on the lateral guide bar 30 movably in the left or right direction (widthwise direction) of the steel plate 1 along the lateral guide bar 30.
[22] The longitudinal guide plate 10 is placed on the steel plate 1 to be cut, and on its top side is formed a guide rail slot 12 along the forward and backward direction. Here, the longitudinal guide plate 10 may also be installed in the end portion of one side of the steel plate 1 as shown in Fig. 5 according to the cutting position of the steel plate 1 and in the middle of the steel plate 1 as shown in Fig. 6.
[23] The CNC device 20 is a device for controlling the movement of the cutting torch 40 according to the shape to be cut. A CNC control unit (not shown) is installed inside the CNC device, and buttons B for inputting control signals (program) and a display panel D for displaying control signals are provided on the exterior. And on the bottom of the CNC device 20 according to the present invention are installed wheels 22 rotated by power transmitted from a drive motor (not shown). Namely, the wheels 22 are rotated normally or reversely by operation of the drive motor (not shown), and these wheels 22 are mounted in the guide rail slots 12 of the longitudinal guide plate 10 to be moved freely in the forward or backward direction (lengthwise) of the steel plate along the guide rail slots 12. Here, for the method of driving the wheel 22 by a drive motor (not shown), it is possible to apply any method known in art. For example, a two-way rotatable motor can be used to transmit power directly to the wheel, or power can be transmitted to the wheel through an intermediate gear.
[24] The lateral guide bar 30 is mounted on the front side of the CNC device 20 and installed movably to the left or right of the centering on the CNC device 20. Namely, on the front side of the CNC device 20 is formed a guide bar mounting portion 24, into which the lateral guide bar 30 is assembled. And on the upper side of the lateral guide bar 30 is fixed a rack gear 32 lengthwise, and above the guide bar mounting portion 24 of the CNC device 20 is installed a pinion gear 26 corresponding to the rack gear 32 rotatable by a motor (not shown). Therefore, when the pinion gear 26 is rotated by operation of the motor, the rack gear 32 in mesh with the pinion gear 26 is moved so as to move the lateral guide bar 30 left or right centering on the CNC device 20. Also, in the upper and lower portions of the guide bar mounting portion 24 of the CNC device 20 are rotatably installed a plurality of rollers 25 for the lateral guide bar 30 to move smoothly.
[25] The cutting torch 40 is configured in such a way that angle adjustment is possible while being rotated as well as being moved in the left or right direction (widthwise) of the steel plate 1 along the lateral guide bar 30. Namely, the lateral cutting torch 40 is installed at lower end of a torch support 42, and on the lateral guide bar 30 is installed a moving plate 44 movable to the left or right along the lateral guide bar 30. The torch support 42 is combined to the moving plate 44 by a pin P and installed rotatably
centering on pin P. In addition, on the upper side of the moving plate 44 is marked an angle marking graduation 44a, and on the torch support 42 is marked an index line 42a for indicating the angle of the angle marking graduation 44a so as to easily confirm the angle of rotation. For the method of driving the moving plate 44 left or right along the lateral guide bar 30, any method known in art can be applied. For example, a timing belt may be installed inside the lateral guide bar 30 wherein one end of the timing belt is connected to the moving plate 44 and the other end of the timing belt is connected to a flat gear combined with a motor. Accordingly, when the flat gear is rotated by the motor, the timing belt is rotated and circulated in the normal or reverse direction according to the rotation direction of the motor so as to move the moving plate 44 connected to the timing belt left or right.
[26] Assembly and operation of the present invention configured like above will be described. In the present invention, the cutting torch carries out cutting work while moving forward, backward, left or right of the steel plate. First, to cut the steel plate 1 in the left-right direction, a moving plate 44 supporting the cutting torch 40 moves along the lateral guide bar 30 to carry out cutting work. At this time, in addition to the torch being moved left or right according to the position of the CNC device 20, the lateral guide bar 30 selects the position while moving in the left or right direction. Of course, the principle of the lateral guide bar 30 being moved is by interaction of a rack gear 32 and pinion gear 26. And to cut the steel plate 1 in the forward-backward direction, the CNC device 20 moves along the guide rail slots 12 of the longitudinal guide plate 10 to move the cutting torch 40 so as to carry out cutting work. Namely, when the drive motor in the CNC device 20 drives the wheels 22, the CNC device 20 is moved forward or backward according to the direction of rotation of the wheels 22 to move the cutting torch 40. Also, the present invention can cut the steel plate 1 at an oblique angle by adjusting the angle of the cutting torch 40 and rotating the torch support 42 to a desired angle while looking at the angle indicating graduation 44a on the moving plate 44. [27] The apparatus for cutting steel plate according to the present invention can be usefully applied to cutting steel plate.

In the following description, well- known functions or constructions are not described in detail since they would obscure the invention in unnecessary detail, and therefore, a detailed description thereof will be omitted.
