Abstract:
An apparatus for detecting an abnormal temperature of a regenerative resistor which dissipates the regenerative energy of an electric motor. This apparatus has a heat conductive member (11) provided in contact with the surface of a regenerative resistor (1), and a thermostat (12) adapted to detect a temperature rise, which is caused by the abnormal heat generated in the regeneration resistor (1), through the heat conductive member. The thermostat (12) and regenerative resistor (1) are provided in different spaces. This apparatus is not used to directly detect the temperature of the surface of the regenerative resistor (1) at a high temperature. The thermostat (12) is attached to a portion, the temperature of which is lowered via the heat conductive member (11), and the temperature of this portion is detected. This enables the high-temperature state of the regenerative resistor (1) to be detected by the thermostat (12) having a low-temperature detecting capability.
