Title:
APPARATUS FOR DETERMINATION OF COMPONENT PASSING THROUGH CATALYST, AND EXHAUST GAS PURIFICATION APPARATUS FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2010/079621
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Disclosed is an apparatus for determining a component that passes through a catalyst, which comprises: a selective reduction NOX catalyst (C1) which is arranged in a flow path (P) of an exhaust gas and can exhibit a NOX-purifying ability in the presence of ammonia; an oxidation catalyst (C2) which is arranged downstream from the selective reduction NOX catalyst (C1); an upstream-side sensor (S1) which is arranged between the selective reduction NOX catalyst (C1) and the oxidation catalyst (C2) and has a property to detect ammonia and NOX; a downstream-side sensor (S2) which is arranged downstream from the oxidation catalyst (C2) and has a property to detect ammonia and NOX; and a determination means for determining a component that passes through the selective reduction NOX catalyst based on the correlation between an output of the upstream-side sensor (S1) and an output of the downstream-side sensor (S2).
