Abstract:
The present invention relates to an apparatus for producing sulfuric acid that contains a large amount of an oxidizing substance by electrolyzing sulfuric acid, and specifically relates to an apparatus for safely and highly efficiently producing electrolyzed sulfuric acid that contains a large amount of an oxidizing substance by producing diluted sulfuric acid that is controlled in temperature and concentration within an electrolysis apparatus and then electrolyzing the diluted sulfuric acid under temperature-controlled conditions.
The present invention provides an apparatus for electrolyzing sulfuric acid, which comprises a positive electrode-side electrolysis unit and a negative electrode-side electrolysis unit, and which is provided with, at least within the positive electrode-side electrolysis unit: a positive electrode-side diluted sulfuric acid generation loop A for diluting concentrated sulfuric acid, which is a supplied starting material, and then adjusting the temperature and the concentration of the thus-diluted sulfuric acid to desired values; and a positive electrode-side electrolyzed sulfuric acid generation loop B for producing electrolyzed sulfuric acid by electrolyzing the diluted sulfuric acid, the temperature and the concentration of which are adjusted to desired values in the loop A, and then adjusting the temperature and the concentration of the thus-produced electrolyzed sulfuric acid to desired values. The present invention also provides a method for electrolyzing sulfuric acid.
