Description:
An apparatus for fastening a connector fixing a thermal insulation board to a wall

The object of the invention is an apparatus for fastening a connector fixing a thermal insulation board to a wall.

There is a known apparatus for fastening a connector fixing a thermal insulation board to a wall presented in patent description no. EP 2042666. This apparatus is intended for deep installation of an insulation board on the ground, where the fastening element has a pressing plate connected to a dowel sleeve. The dowel sleeve is suitable for receiving an expansion element with a head and the dowel sleeve comprises an expansion zone. This apparatus has a cutting device for cutting the insulation board, which has recesses through which the insulating material being cut may pass. The insulating material being cut is collected in a collecting device, wherein the collecting device is shaped like a cap which is connected to the pressing plate.

The apparatus for fastening a connector fixing a thermal insulation board to a wall according to the invention is made of a pin with a shaped tip for placing in the head of a connector screw. This apparatus is characterised in that a cutter of insulation having on its end a thick bottom and a disc with dimensions larger than the bottom is seated on the pin. The cutter of insulation has teeth on its end. The cutter has a sharpened ring on its end. The cutter of insulation is fastened on the pin rotationally. The cutter of insulation is fastened on the pin by means of rings fixedly seated on the pin. The cutter of insulation has on its end a disc with a surface 2-5 times larger than the surface of the cutter bottom. The cutter of insulation has a bottom 5-15 mm in thickness. The cutter of insulation has, in a top view, the shape of a square. The cutter of insulation has, in a top view, the shape of a regular polygon inscribable in a circle. The apparatus for fastening a connector fixing a thermal insulation board to a wall according to the invention is characterised by simple construction, and at the same time good functionality. It allows quickly placing a connector fixing a thermal insulation board to a wall in a suitable prearranged position and closing the recess in the insulation by means of an insulation element prepared in advance. This is achieved by placing the shaped tip of the pin in the head of the connector screw, while the second end of the pin is placed in a drill-driver, which is provided with rotation. The screw being rotated is then driven into the expansion sleeve, fixing it permanently in the wall, while the cutter cuts the insulation material and compresses it to the depth of the bottom. Further compressing is not possible, since the disc rests against the insulation. After removing the apparatus, the recess in the insulation is sealed by a fitting prepared in advance, with dimensions corresponding to the dimensions of the cutter. As a result, the duration of fixing a single fastening element is considerably shortened, therefore, the duration of completing the insulation of the building is shortened. At the same time, each element fastening the insulations remains tensioned, since the disc of this element rests against the compressed insulation. This is why such fixing is considerably more durable. The use of the cutter in the apparatus does not result in tattering the insulation while compressing it, since compressing occurs only within the cut insulation.

The apparatus for fastening a connector fixing a thermal insulation board to a wall according to the invention is described in more detail in embodiments and in drawings, in which fig.1 shows the apparatus as viewed from the side of the cutter disc, fig.2 is a transverse cross-section along the axis of the apparatus, fig.3 is a variant of the transverse cross-section along the axis of the apparatus where the cutter has on its end a sharpened ring, fig.4 shows a detail of connecting the cutter to the pin of fig.2 and fig.3, while fig.5 is a top view of a variant of the apparatus where the cutter has the shape of a square, fig.6 is a top view of a variant of the apparatus where the cutter has the shape of a hexagon. As presented in fig.1 - fig.6, the apparatus for fastening a connector fixing a thermal insulation board to a wall is comprised of a pin 1 with a shaped tip 2 for placing in the head of a connector screw. The cutter 3 of insulation is rotationally seated on the pin 1. The cutter 3 has on its end a thick bottom 4 and a disc 5 with dimensions larger than the bottom 4, wherein the surface of the disc 5 being 2.5 times larger than the surface of the bottom 4. On the opposite side of the bottom 4 the cutter 3 has teeth 6 intended to cut the insulation. An embodiment of the cutter 3 is shown in fig. 3, where the cutter 3 has the form of a ring 7 whose end is sharpened. On the outer surface of the pin 1 there is a groove 8, in which the retaining ring 9 is seated, determining the fixed position of the washer 10 and thus the cutter 3 relative to the pin 1. On the other side of the cutter 3, on the pin 1 the second washer 11 is fixedly seated. A different embodiment is also possible, where the pin 1 and the washer 11 constitute a uniform whole by making these elements of one piece of material. The cutter 3 may have the shape of a circle, as shown in fig.1 - fig.3, or a square, as shown in fig.5, and it can have the shape of a hexagon, and it can also have the shape of any other regular polygon inscribable in a circle.

Operating the apparatus consists of inserting the tip of the pin 1 into a drill-driver, while the other end of the pin 1 is placed in a shaped head of the connector screw, which is placed in an opening made in the insulation and the wall in advance. The drill-driver is provided with rotation and the apparatus moves towards the wall with the insulation. Due to the movement of the apparatus towards the wall with the insulation, the cutter 3 cuts the insulation with its sharp circumference, and its bottom 4 pushes the connector, which compresses the interior of the cut insulation. The process of compressing the insulation lasts only until the disc 5 rests upon the insulation. Due to the size of the disc 5, the resistance against insulation is effective, due to which the recess in the insulation has the size of the thickness of the bottom 4, amounting to 10 mm. After removing the apparatus, the resulting recess in the insulation is sealed by the previously cut fitting 10 mm in thickness.
