Abstract:
An apparatus for layered-object formation which comprises: a holding mechanism (10) which holds a base (12); a liquid supplier (20) which supplies a liquid to a given position from over the base; a powder supplier (30) which causes a powder to fall from over the base; and a powder remover which removes the powder remaining unconsolidated on the base. A liquid is supplied by the liquid supplier. Subsequently, a powder is supplied by the powder supplier to consolidate the liquid with the powder supplied to the liquid. The powder remaining unconsolidated with the liquid is then removed by the powder remover. These steps are repeated. Thus, a three-dimensional object is formed on the base. The three-dimensional object has a smooth surface on at least part thereof. As a result, a surface-smoothing treatment can be omitted or simplified.
