Abstract:
The present invention relates to an apparatus for manufacturing compacted iron and to an apparatus for manufacturing molten iron comprising the apparatus. The apparatus for manufacturing compacted iron comprises: i) a roll core having a shaft; and ii) a roll tyre which covers the periphery of the roll core and which has a surface on which recesses are formed to compress powder into compacted iron. A cooling fluid channel is formed at an interface between the roll tyre and the roll core such that a cooling fluid flows along the cooling fluid channel to cool the roll tyre. One or more sealing grooves are spaced apart from the cooling fluid channel, and formed at the interface in order to seal the interface.
