Abstract:
Disclosed is an apparatus for manufacturing a honeycomb structure (170) which comprises: a base (300); a frame (302) which is mounted on the front surface of the base (300); a mask (200a) which is disposed at an end surface of a pillar-shaped body (70) that has a plurality of penetration holes (70a) formed therein opening at the end surface, and which has a plurality of hole sections (270a) and a masking section (270b) that closes some of the penetration holes (70a); a pressing means (400) which presses the end surface of the pillar-shaped body (70) where the mask (200a) is disposed, onto a slurry-type hole sealing material (304) that is supplied inside the frame (302); and a movement means (600) which moves the frame (302) and the pillar-shaped body (70) pressed onto the hole sealing material (304) in a direction substantially parallel to the front surface of the base (300).
