Abstract:
An apparatus for measuring displacement of a tailstock transfer cylinder comprises: a magnetostrictive wire shaft having a magnetostrictive wire installed to extend through a through hole of a piston within a cylinder bore; a position magnet unit having a permanent magnet movable together with the piston and installed on the piston to surround the magnetostrictive wire; and a position measurement unit for applying a first pulse signal to the magnetostrictive wire, and receiving a second pulse signal which is generated by intersection of first and second magnetic fields formed in the magnetostrictive wire by the first pulse signal and the permanent magnet, so as to calculate the position of the piston.
