Abstract:

Radio waves are received by a plurality of receiving means (2) and (3) to measure the powers (E1) and (E2). The powers (E1) and (E2) are compared by comparing means (6) for determining which one is greater. Change of this comparison is detected by means (7). The number of changes, which represents the number of times of switchings of the receiving means, is measured by counting means (8) for a given period of time. The speed of movement of the mobile station relative to the station which receives the radio waves is determined by converting means (10) on the basis of the counted number of changes.
