Abstract:
The present invention relates to an apparatus for automatically and quickly melting snow or ice accumulating on various types of roads during the wintertime, and to a method for installing same. More particularly, the present invention relates to a snow-melting apparatus for paved roads using a heating medium laid underneath road surfaces, as well as to a method for installing same, wherein the apparatus is easily installed not only on existing roads but also in vulnerable areas, has low maintenance costs, and provides a power capacity with consideration of the amount of heat required for melting snow and the amount of heat required for unfreezing the area in which the apparatus is installed, thereby maximizing economic advantages. To accomplish this aim, the present invention provides a snow-melting apparatus for paved roads, comprising: a groove formed to a predetermined depth from a road surface along the length of a predetermined area on the paved road; a receiving member, the interior of which is hollow and the outer appearance of which corresponds to the groove; a heating member disposed on the floor of the receiving member to generate heat; a heat conduction layer disposed on the heating member; a protective layer arranged on the heat conduction layer to fill the groove; a temperature/accumulated snow sensing unit which senses the amount of snow that has accumulated on the road surface and the temperature of the road surface; and a control unit which receives a signal from the temperature/accumulated snow sensing unit to control the heating member.
