Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a pre-5th-Generation (5G) or 5G communication system to be provided for supporting higher data rates Beyond 4th-Generation (4G) communication system such as Long Term Evolution (LTE). A method of a user equipment (UE) for beam management in a wireless communication system is provided. The method comprises receiving, from a base station (BS), a radio resource control (RRC) signaling and a medium access control channel element (MAC CE) signaling including a beam indicator over a downlink channel for the beam management, identifying the beam indicator based on the RRC signaling and the MAC CE signaling, and determining the beam indicator for a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH), a common physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH), and a fallback unicast PDSCH.
