An apparatus (300, 400, 500) and a method for controlling paraffin dispensing in a paraffin dispenser (14, 100), and an embedder (1), wherein the apparatus (300, 400, 500) comprises: an electromagnetic valve (210, 310, 410, 510), mounted on the paraffin dispenser (14, 100); a pedal assembly (320, 420, 520) comprising a foot pedal (321, 421, 521) and a foot switch (322, 422, 522); the foot switch (322, 422, 522) being configured to detect a position where the foot pedal (321, 421, 521) is pressed to and to generate a control signal according to the position; and a controller (330, 430, 530) configured to receive the control signal and to control the magnetic valve (210, 310, 410, 510) to open according to the control signal, so as to control paraffin flow in the paraffin dispenser (14, 100).
