Abstract:
Disclosed is a hybrid drive (1) that conducts recording or reading of information to a hybrid disk (5) having: a ROM layer (6) that is a record layer onto which information cannot be written, and that has an OS to be executed by a PC (16) pre-recorded thereon; and an RE layer (7) that is a recording layer onto which information can be written. The hybrid drive (1) is provided with an update information acquisition unit (25) for acquiring an updated OS; a nonvolatile memory unit (3) for having the acquired updated OS recorded thereon; and a record/playback control unit (26) and a record/playback unit (4) for recording the updated OS onto the nonvolatile memory unit (3), and recording the updated OS recorded in the nonvolatile memory unit (3) onto the RE layer (7) of the hybrid disk (5).
