Abstract:
The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for cooling an exhaust gas and, to an apparatus and a method for cooling an exhaust gas in an inexpensive manner without occupying additional exclusive use space by installing the apparatus for cooling an exhaust gas on the top end of a duct of a heat recovery steam generator. One problem to be solved by the proposed invention is to reduce costs by using a low-priced cooling apparatus on a cooling path for cooling an exhaust gas. According to one aspect, the apparatus for cooling an exhaust gas includes: an exhaust gas cooling unit disposed on the top end of a duct of the heat recovery steam generator connected to a gas turbine so as to cool an exhaust gas discharged from the gas turbine; and a control unit for controlling the exhaust gas cooling unit so as to lower the increase rate of energy of an exhaust gas introduced into the heat recovery steam generator through the duct.
