Cross-Reference to Related Application

This is an International Patent Application to pending Non-Provisional U.S. Application Serial No. 14/027,705, filed on September 16, 2013, which is a Continuation Application of Non- Provisional U.S. Application Serial No. 13/764,793, filed on February 12, 2013, which is incorporated herein by this reference in its entirety and claims priority thereto.

Technical Field

The invention is relevant in the field of bedbug inspections. The present invention will be saving valuable time and costly constant re-inspections. The field of bed bug preventive monitoring and concurrent bed bug inspections that are performed either by trained animals or human exterminators. The present device is specifically designed to be an ongoing early detection, of bed bugs by pest management professionals ("PMP").

Background Art

Bed bugs (Cimex lectularius and Cimex hemipterus) are small tick like looking insects that survive on the blood of humans and other warm-blooded hosts. Bed bugs most likely hide during daylight hours in dark enclosed sites and have a preference for cracks and crevices in fabric, wood, and gritty sandpaper like surfaces.

Bed bugs are attracted to heat, scented bedbug excrement and carbon dioxide given off by warm-blooded mammals, birds, and themselves. Sleeping areas, mattresses, box springs, nightstands, headboards, are an ideal environment for bedbugs to hide. Bed bugs are known for being mainly active at night, and prefer hunting in the dark making their sightings difficult.

The benefits of this invention would be best utilized by of the invention is for use by PMPs. The present invention would greatly diminish the inspection time for PMPs who spend countless hours inspecting and returning to bed bug traps on several occasions.

The bites inflicted by bed bugs can create a dermatological reaction, which can cause irritation for a considerable time after the bite occurs. The first indication of a bite usually occurs with the person not knowing exactly where or when the insect bit them. This creates the situation whereby a person may not now where they were bit. It may have been at a hotel, over a friend's house, the couch or their bed. In many instances, there is no reaction for many months or until sightings of the bed bugs are seen or the excrement and blood stains are found on the surface of where they are feeding frequently.

Waiting for the bed bugs to bite to confirm an intrusion, has many disadvantages, for example the bites are similar to other insect bites and therefore difficult to identify. Detecting the presence of bed bugs before they bite would be better result. The purpose of the invention is to lessen the amount of time it takes to detect bed bugs. For example, the click of a computer mouse can observe multip liable locations all at once for the PMP of the presence of bed bugs and that the units are all working properly.

The pandemic worldwide increase in bedbugs, highlights the need for a solution to the problems they cause and this brief review of known attempts to detect and eliminate them (all of which are based around active capture) shows that there is no clear starting point— and indeed no satisfactory universal solution from which the problem may be tackled, unless increased early detection is possible with the present bed bug insect peripheral electronic detection notification unit device. This device can be connected and part of many different apparatus device's with software system producing email or other electronic alerts to common personal electronic devices in the dark structure. Saving valuable time and costly constant re-inspection before a prolific infestation is problematic. This is the main benefit of the invention.

Disclosure of the Invention

The present invention addresses the above stated need by the invention seeks to lure and capture insects. The term insects may include bed bugs. The present invention is based on their known attraction to a no n- sun light and non- room light structures along with many dark refuge enclosures. That includes grasping and gripping surfaces. Providing, hidden dark bonus cracks and crevices that are also offering, attractive things to their sensory organs. Commonly known, natural chemical attractants, such as bed bug excrement, also known as bed bug fecal pheromones, lure in bed bugs. Additional bed bug attractants or lures include warm heat and carbon dioxide. Bed bugs, when captured by the present invention produce information to set off an alarm, warning PMPs such as exterminators, hotel managers, apartment owners and other similarly situated individuals.

Once notified of the bedbug intruder alert: the knowledge gained from observation, the PMP has proof of intruder of bedbug immediately. The invention could notify from its location to the PMP by electronic mail, text message, IP, visual monitors, but not limited to other electronic peripheral common devices and or internet connections.

According to the first embodiment of bed bugs detected by the present invention there is absolute proof of bed bug detection.

The invention could elicit a taxis response to a PMP to schedule a treatment, for eradication of bed bugs. And immediately could be notifying another PMP designed to do so. Before the eradication procedure begins, from the PMP, that perform the extermination of bed bugs, the invention placements are easily disconnected and removed for their protection, until after the structure has finished being treated for bed bugs.

After eradication procedures have taken place for the bed bugs in a room, then the original invention placements are re- set to their connective intelligence according to the instruction manual. This creates quality assurance of continual monitoring electronically, that any new re-invasions that may occur in the future. The invention will notify PMPs immediately.

The invention comprises a refuge enclosure, has a non-trapping/trapping indicator in the interior. It is the detection surface. Its enhanced purpose is to provide a constant visual electronic scope inspection for the security motion detection cameras and devices in conjunction for the early bed bug detection protection programs. An indicator may include an electronic message alert with may be an email or text message, visual identification on a TV screen, audible alarm or a first response alert notifying a pest management professional.

According to the another aspect of the present invention, it is there to provide an early warning passive method of detecting the presence of bed bugs with or without their capture held comprising of visual LCD/TV screen monitoring with digital video recorder with alert

programming to the bedbugs movement within the invention. This device elicits a taxis response, from motion detection to DVR or computers with the common software for this operating systems management. That in turn, could notify the PMPs by electronic mail, text message, sounds, lights or other alerting mechanisms with the prospective and proper software.

When invention is placed in or is attached to under a bed frame, a bed headboard or a mattress edge, the bed bugs, but not limited to, will be enticed to crawl into the invention because of scented excrement lure, warm heat, crevices and location placement of the unit. When crawling within the dark infrared interior of the non-trapping/trapping indicator surface this will trigger the active device and may include to leave an indication of their presence. Identified such as on a, but not limited to Visual T.V., LCD screen, recorded VCR, DVR or Computer generated operating software in communication with the invention.

The self-inspecting device is self-supporting. But if at regular intervals, the Pest

Management Professional will want to inspect the Screening Visual monitors for the presence of bed bugs at any time, or to confirm the invention is operating properly.

The invention that is connected to known bed bug hiding areas, may be held in place but not limited to, by a connecting clip, screws, glue, magnets or by the use of Velcro. This means the device can be easily removed for maintenance every six months or if eradication procedure's is to take place.

The Field invention peripheral device will be saving valuable time and costly constant re- inspections.
