Abstract:
Provided are an apparatus and method for determining disease severity on the basis of medical images, according to embodiments of the present invention. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the apparatus for determining disease severity on the basis of medical images comprises: a communication unit configured to transmit/receive data; and a control unit configured to be connected to the communication unit, wherein the control unit is configured to: obtain, from an imaging device, through the communication unit, a plurality of medical images capturing images of a target part of a subject from different directions; obtain result data from each medical image, predicting a target part region by using a prediction model trained to predict a region corresponding to the target part on the basis of the plurality of medical images; and determine disease severity by using a classification model trained to classify the disease severity of the target part region on the basis of the result data.
