Abstract:
Disclosed are an apparatus and method for device discovery in device-to-device (D2D) communications. The apparatus comprises: a receiving module, configured to receive a resource allocation parameter sent by a device on a network side, the resource allocation parameter being used to allocate a periodic resource for sending a D2D signal, and configured to receive a transmission probability indication parameter sent by the network side; a processing module, configured to determine, according to at least the transmission probability indication parameter, whether to send the D2D signal within a resource period of the D2D signal, or configured to determine, according to at least the transmission probability indication parameter, a discovery resource period for sending the D2D signal; and a sending module, configured to send the D2D signal within the determined discovery resource period of the D2D signal.
