Abstract:
An image display apparatus comprises: an eye wearable lens; a display panel unit embedded inside the lens or disposed on the surface of the lens and having an array of multiple optical elements for forming an image to be projected to a retina of a user, the multiple optical elements being configured such that the image formed by the multiple optical elements has a higher resolution in the central portion of the retina than in the peripheral portion thereof; and an image signal processing unit for generating an image signal according to information on an image to be displayed on the display panel unit and controlling the on/off of each optical element according to the image signal.
