Abstract:
An apparatus and a method for displaying traffic congestion information in a navigation system according to the present invention have technical features in that the apparatus comprises a control unit, which receives, from a user input unit, a service selection signal for displaying the traffic congestion information, divides a display area of an output unit into one or more virtual space areas, and displays a map including the traffic congestion information in the virtual space areas, wherein the scale of the map displayed in the virtual space areas changes according to the average speed of a currently running vehicle and the average speed is proportional to the scale.
