Abstract:

The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for early diagnosis of breast cancer and, more specifically, to an apparatus and a method for early screening with respect to the presence or absence of a breast cancer lesion inside the breast of a subject to be diagnosed. According to the present invention, a three-dimensional image, with respect to a subject to be diagnosed such as the breast and the like, obtained by means of digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT) and a three-dimensional image, with respect to the subject to be diagnosed, obtained by means of diffuse optical tomography (DOT) are utilized to be mutually complementary such that the presence or absence of a breast cancer lesion is confirmed. Therefore, efficiency in early diagnosis of breast cancer is increased, and unnecessary biopsy can be reduced.
