Abstract:
The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for extending the field of view of intravascular ultrasound transducers and, more specifically, to an apparatus for extending the field of view of intravascular ultrasound transducers, the apparatus comprising first and second ultrasound transducers provided on the lateral side and forward side of the end portion of a catheter inserted into a blood vessel so as to obtain in real time and simultaneously a plurality of images from the lateral direction to the forward direction of the catheter, wherein the first ultrasound transducer is provided on one lateral side of the end portion of the catheter, and the second ultrasound transducer is provided in the shape of a curved surface so as to extend from one lateral side to the central part of the forward side of the end portion of the catheter.
