Abstract:
Disclosed are an apparatus and a method for inputting a pattern for user authentication. The present invention has a strong resistance to smudge attack, by not inputting, by a user, a pattern directly via a pattern lock interface as in a conventional pattern function, but inputting a pattern using a virtual operation interface provided separately. The pattern input method of the present invention comprises the steps of: providing to a user a virtual operation interface on the screen of the apparatus to input a pattern, in addition to a pattern lock interface; and receiving the pattern via the virtual operation interface.
