Abstract:
The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for managing a battery pack. The apparatus for managing a battery pack according to the present invention comprises: a temperature-measuring module which measures the temperature of a battery pack; a current-measuring module which, if the measured temperature does not fall within a predetermined temperature range, measures the charging/discharging current of the battery pack; a time-measuring module which, if the value of the measured charging/discharging current is higher than a predetermined value of current, measures the time period during which the value of the measured charging/discharging current is kept higher than the predetermined value of current; a storage module which stores an accumulated time period; and a control module which determines the state of the battery pack in accordance with the accumulated time period, and provides a user with information on the state.
