Abstract:
The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for measuring the temperature of a material, wherein the apparatus comprises: a main body unit arranged at an outlet side of a heating furnace; a temperature-measuring unit installed in the main body unit to measure the temperature of the material extracted from the heating furnace; a foreign substance removing unit installed in the main body unit to spray a fluid onto the material so as to remove foreign substances from the material; and a transfer unit installed in the main body unit to transfer the temperature-measuring unit. According to the present invention, the temperature of the material is measured after removing foreign substances, such as scale, which have formed on the surface of the material, thereby improving the reliability of the measurement of the temperature of the material.
