Abstract:
An additional control device is mounted on an electronic equipment, and a large amount of data is transferred from the electronic equipment to the additional control device. An electronic control equipment in a printer outputs data to a cartridge (3) mounted in a slot of the printer by reflecting the data in the lower order eight bits of an address signal line (CAB). By this assignement of an address, the data corresponding to the address is read out from a ROM (671), and is latched in a latch (657). In the cartridge, a FIFO memory (621) is provided. When a register FIFOREQ in a FIFO writing register (653) is accessed, the data latched in the latch (657) is written in the FIFO memory (621), and an address counter for writing the data increases the content. By repeating this processing, the transfer of the data of plural bytes from the electronic equipment is completed. Such a configuration that a signal/FIFOWR outputted by the access to a register FIFOWR for instructing the latch (657) to set data is utilized as the signal/FIFOREQ by using a delay element enables the data to be transferred by one access.
