Title:
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING A BURNABLE SYNTHESIS GAS
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2010/083804
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
The invention relates in principle to an apparatus and to a method for producing a burnable synthesis gas. The problem of the invention is to create a novel apparatus and a method for producing a burnable synthesis gas from carbon-containing materials, by which not only more burnable synthesis gas per percentage by weight of carbon-containing material can be produced, but where at the same time the quality of the produced gas is considerably higher. The solution to said problem is obtained in that, for the purpose of reaching a temperature of at least 1,400ºC, a device for producing high-frequency electromagnetic waves, hereinafter referred to as HEM waves, is provided and the carbon is heated to at least 1,400ºC using HEM waves in a reaction region / hot spot (first oxidation region).
