This apparatus (1) for producing a membrane catalyst assembly is provided with: a plurality of conveyance rollers which convey a long belt-like electrolyte membrane (92) that is provided, on the back surface, with a first electrode layer (9a) containing first catalyst particles in the conveyance direction that is the longitudinal direction of the electrolyte membrane; an adsorption roller (10), on a part of the outer circumferential surface of which the back surface of the electrolyte membrane (92) is adsorbed and held, and which rotates about the shaft center thereof; a material supply part which supplies an electrode material containing second catalyst particles to the front surface of the electrolyte membrane (92) so as to form a second layer (9b), said electrolyte membrane (92) moving by being adsorbed and held by the adsorption roller (10); and an inspection part which inspects at least the first electrode layer (9a) after separating the electrolyte membrane (92) from the adsorption roller (10).
