Abstract:
Disclosed are an apparatus and a method for producing perfluoro tripropylamine (PFTPA) by using electrochemical fluorination. The production method according to an embodiment is a method for producing PFTPA by forced convection of a mixed solution of tripropylamine (TPA) and hydrogen fluoride, through a channel, which is the space between a plurality of cathode electrode plates and a plurality of anode electrode plates that are spaced apart from each other at predetermined intervals and alternately arranged, in which, by considering the yield of PFTAA as a product and the concentration of impurities contained in the product, the flow rate of the mixed solution flowing through the channel is controlled. For example, when the cathode electrode plates and the anode electrode plates are provided to be spaced apart from each other at intervals of 3-5 mm, the flow rate of the mixed solution is controlled to be 4-10 L/min.
