Abstract:
Provided are an apparatus and a method for producing a semi-carbonized fuel of a biomass, which do not require an external heat source and are capable of suppressing adhesion of tar, condensed water or the like to a pipe. This apparatus for producing a semi-carbonized fuel of a biomass is provided with: a drying device (10) which heats and dries a biomass (1); a thermal decomposition device (11) which thermally decomposes the biomass (2) dried by the drying device (10); and a combustion device (13) which supplies heat to the drying device (10) and the thermal decomposition device (11) for heating. The thermal decomposition device (11) is configured so that some of a combustion exhaust gas (6) generated in the combustion device (13) is supplied thereto, the biomass (2) is heated and thermally decomposed by being directly mixed with the supplied combustion exhaust gas (6a), and a mixed gas (7) of the thus-generated thermal decomposition gas and the combustion exhaust gas (6a) used for heating is supplied to the combustion device (13). The combustion device (13) is configured so that an air for combustion (8) is supplied thereto and the mixed gas (7) supplied thereto is combusted, thereby generating the combustion exhaust gas (6).
