[Problem] To provide an apparatus and a method both for quickly removing blood from a fish body, in which a pressurized liquid is jetted from hemal arch into a blood vessel, including an artery and a vein, in the fish body to cause blood in the blood vessel to be jet-drained, thereby achieving the drainage of blood and the washing of the inside of the blood vessel. [Solution] An apparatus for quickly removing blood from a fish body, in which the "ikijime", i.e., the slaughtering by draining blood, is performed by pressurizing a liquid to jet the liquid into hemal arch from a cut tail part in the fish body. The apparatus is provided with a pressurizing device for applying a pressure to a liquid to allow the liquid to be fed, a hose through which the pressurized liquid fed from the pressurizing device can be fed, a valve which is connected to the hose and can perform the opening and closing of a flow path for the liquid, and a nozzle which is connected to the valve and through which the liquid can be jetted when the valve is in an opened state, wherein the valve can perform the opening and closing of the flow path by means of the pressing down and pulling up of a button, respectively, and the nozzle has such a configuration that a tapered shape is formed from a base part having a larger hole diameter toward a tip and the hole diameter of the center of the tip is narrower.
