Abstract:
The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method capable of recognizing an object in visual content on the basis of a beacon signal, and to that end, the apparatus for recognizing an object in visual content comprises: a visual content acquisition unit for acquiring visual content by video filming; a beacon signal reception unit, activated when the visual content is acquired, for receiving at least one beacon signal generated within a previously set radius; an object information acquisition unit for transmitting, if location information is contained in the beacon signal, the location information to a content provision server, and acquiring therefrom structural information for an object having a beacon transmitter, for transmitting a beacon signal containing the location information, installed therein; and an object recognition unit for recognizing, on the basis of structural information for an object, an object in one area of the visual content corresponding to the location information, and additionally recognizing an object in another area by applying an object recognition algorithm previously installed in said area of the visual content.
