Abstract:
A device (17) for separating discs (10) of metal from a stack of discs held in an infeed (16, 23) to a machine such as a cupping press or other machinery used in can manufacture. In one embodiment a separator ring (17) includes four segments (20) on its inner surface. The segments have a central aperture through which the lowermost disc of the stack is extracted by suction (12), the disc forming a four-leaf clover shape as it is pulled between the four segments.
