Abstract:
A method and apparatus (100) for de-nesting and separating folded cartons on a rotary press receives folded cartons (12/13) onto a de-nester conveyor in a parallel product stream. Each folding stream (190/192) in the parallel product stream is placed on a conveyer belt (132/134). The conveyer belts first vertically diverge, separating adjacent folding streams. The conveyer belts then horizontally diverge, placing the necessary horizontal spacing between the folding streams. At the same time the conveyer belts horizontally diverge, they return the folding streams to the same horizontal plane. The de-nested and separated parallel product stream is then discharged from the de-nested conveyor.
