Description:
APPARATUS FOR MONITORING GASSING LEVEL BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention The present invention relates to an apparatus for monitoring a gassing level, and in particular to an apparatus for monitoring a gassing level that is capable of actually monitoring a gassing level while a vehicle is being gassed up.

2. Description of the Background Art Generally, the gassing level while a vehicle is being gassed up is checked by a meter of a gassing machine. In the case that an owner of a gas station or a staff working for the gas station illegally manipulates a meter, a customer may have an economical damage.

The gassing level checking apparatus of Korean patent publication No: 2002-0058785 includes first and second clamps which are detachably engaged to an outer diameter portion of a fuel hose connected with a gassing gun of a gassing machine, a transmitter provided in the first clamp and designed to transmit a supersonic wave to fuel flowing from the first clamp to the fuel hose, a receiver which is provided in the second clamp of the opposite side of the transmitter for receiving a supersonic wave from the transmitter through the fuel

of the fuel hose, and a supersonic wave gas meter monitor which is electrically connected with the transmitter and the receiver, respectively, for thereby processing, controlling and computing a transmission signal of the transmitter and a receiving signal of the receiver.

In the conventional gassing level checking apparatus, it is possible to check the amount of gas passing through the gassing gun of the gassing machine, not to check the amount of gas being actually filled into a fuel tank.

There may be a problem that gas may be leaked to the outside due to an operator's mistake.-Therefore, it is impossible to check an error amount of gas between the amount of gas remaining in a gassing hose and the amount of gas, which is actually gassed up into a vehicle.

NUMMARY OF THE ! MWEMTtOM Accordingly, it is an object of the present invention to provide an apparatus for monitoring a gassing level that overcomes the problems encountered in the conventional amusement instrument.

It is another object of the present invention to provide an apparatus for monitoring a gassing level that is capable of preventing a customer's economical damage by accurately judging a gassed-up level of gas that is actually gassed up into a fuel tank and accurately checking a difference between a gassing level shown in a meter of a gassing machine and a gassing level which is actually gassed up.

To achieve the above objects, there is provided an apparatus for monitoring a gassing level, comprising a gassing level detection unit which is installed at an entrance of a fuel tank of vehicle and outputs a gassing level detection signal corresponding to a gassing level of gas filled into a fuel tank through an entrance of the fuel tank, a reset switch which is installed in a gassing cover of vehicle and outputs a zero setting signal when opening the gassing cover, a gassing level display unit which is installed in an instrument panel of vehicle and outputs a gassing level information corresponding to a gassing level display signal inputted, and a control unit which is adapted to judge an actual gassing level in accordance with a zero setting signal and gassing level detection signal and to output a gassing level display signal corresponding thereto.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS The present invention will become better understood with reference to the accompanying drawings which are given only by way of illustration and thus are not limitative of the present invention, wherein; Figure 1 is a block diagram illustrating the construction of an apparatus for monitoring a gassing level according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention; and Figure 2 is a flow chart of a control process of an apparatus for monitoring a gassing level according to a preferred embodiment of the present

invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS The preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings. In the following descriptions, the descriptions on the known functions and constructions that may be judged to make the subject matters of the present invention unclear will be omitted.

Figure 1 is a block diagram illustrating the construction of an apparatus for monitoring a gassing level according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, and Figure 2 is a flow chart of a control process of an apparatus for monitoring a gassing level according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention.

As shown in Figure 1, the apparatus for monitoring a gassing level includes a gassing level detection unit 110, a reset switch 120, a gassing level display unit 130, and a control unit 140.

First, the gassing level detection unit 110 will be described.

The gassing level detection unit 110 is intended to detect an actual gassing level of gas filled into a fuel tan of vehicle. The gassing level detection unit 110 is installed at an entrance of the fuel tank of vehicle and outputs a gassing level detection signal corresponding to a fuel level filled into the fuel tank through the entrance of the fuel tank. The gassing level detection unit 110

may be implemented by a gassing level meter installed at the entrance of the fuel tank of vehicle. The gassing level meter is designed to have a strong durability with respect to toxic materials such as gasoline, etc. and a high mechanical strength with respect to an external impact applied thereto.

Second, the reset switch 120 will be described.

The reset switch 120 is designed to set the gassing level display unit 130 to a zero state in order to accurately judge the gassing level for every gassing operation. The reset switch 120 is in stalled in a gassing cover of vehicle and outputs a zero setting signal when the gassing cover is opened.

Third, the gassing level display unit 130 will be described.

The gassing level display unit 130 is designed to output a visual data such as characters or numbers so that a driver or rider of vehicle can actually check the gassing degree. The above gassing level display unit 130 is installed in an instrument panel of vehicle and outputs a gassing level information corresponding to the gassing display signal inputted.

The gassing level display unit 130 may be formed of a digital indicator installed in the instrument panel of vehicle.

Fourth, the control unit 140 will be described.

The control unit 140 is designed to set the gassing display unit 130 to zero whenever gas is newly filled and to judge an actual gassing level based on a detection signal outputted from the gassing level detection unit 110.

The control unit 140 judges the actual gassing level based on the inputs

of the zero setting signal and the gassing level detection signal and outputs a gassing level display signal to the gassing level display unit 130.

As shown in Figure 2, the control method implemented by the control unit 140 of the apparatus for monitoring a gassing level according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention includes a zero setting signal confirmation step S110 in which an input of a zero setting signal from a limit switch is responded, a zero setting step S120 in which what a gassing cover is opened is judged, and a gassing level display unit is set to zero, a gassing detection signal confirmation step S130 in which an input of a gassing level detection signal from a gassing level detection unit is responded, an actual gassing level judging step S140 in which an actual gassing level is judged based on a gassing level detection signal in accordance with a previously set table, and a gassing level display signal output step S150 in which a gassing level display signal is outputted to the gassing level display unit.

As described above, in the gassing level monitoring apparatus according to the present invention, a driver or rider of vehicle can accurately judge a gassing level of gas actually filled into a fuel tank, so that it is possible to check a difference between the gassing level shown in a gassing meter of a gassing machine and an actual gassing level. Therefore, it is possible to prevent any manipulation of a gas meter of gas station, so that a certain damage of customers may be prevented.

As the present invention may be embodied in several forms without

departing from the spirit or essential characteristics thereof, it should also be understood that the above-described examples are not limited by any of the details of the foregoing description, unless otherwise specified, but rather should be construed broadly within its spirit and scope as defined in the appended claims, and therefore all changes and modifications that fall within the meets and bounds of the claims, or equivalences of such meets and bounds are therefore intended to be embraced by the appended claims.
