Title:
APPARATUS FOR PREVENTING DRONE BATTERY DEGRADATION CAUSED BY MOMENTARY HIGH OUTPUT EXCEEDING RATING, AND OPERATION METHOD THEREFOR
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2024/058565
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for preventing drone battery degradation, and in particular, provides: an apparatus for preventing battery degradation caused by a momentary high output exceeding the rating of the battery, wherein an auxiliary battery dedicated to the high output required in the initial moment when the drone takes off is provided so that an expensive main battery can be operated to reduce the burden of degradation caused by the occurrence of a high output exceeding the rated output to improve the performance of the main battery and achieve the effect of reducing the weight of the drone; and an operation method therefor. The expensive main battery (MB) is operated within a rated output range so the lifespan is not shortened, and the low-cost auxiliary battery (AB) is dedicated to the high output power required for frequent takeoff operations so that only the auxiliary battery (AB) needs to be replaced when the auxiliary battery is degraded and reaches the end-of-life, thus reducing the cost incurred to a user. In addition, the auxiliary battery is lightweight and thus there is no change in the weight of the drone, and in particular, since the main battery is typically designed to take into account the high output operation required during frequent takeoff operations, it is expected that removing this burden will make it possible to make the drone even lighter.
