Abstract:
The present invention relates to an apparatus for preventing fog formation and dispersing fog on airport runways by using a sprinkler; and more specifically, to an apparatus for preventing fog formation and promptly dispersing fog around the runway, taxiway and GSE (service road) by ejecting water from sprinklers that are installed around the runway at an airport when fog is formed or if there is a possibility of fog formation. The apparatus for preventing fog formation and dispersing fog on airport runways of the present invention comprises: a water tank (10) buried under the ground around a runway; a water tank temperature sensor (20) for detecting temperature of water in the water tank; a heater (30) installed inside the water tank, for heating the water stored in the tank; a cooler (40) installed inside the water tank, for cooling the water stored in the tank; sprinklers (50) installed on both sides of a runway and on the ground around the runway, for receiving the water from the water tank and spraying the water on the runway and in the air around the runway; and a controller (60), which receives input from the water tank temperature sensor concerning the temperature of water inside the water tank and controls operations of the sprinkler, heater and cooler, according to an operation signal inputted from outside,
