Abstract:
The present invention relates to a spring-type apparatus for preventing offensive odors from rising up from a drain and for protecting the drain from insects, wherein the apparatus comprises a support unit and an opening/closing unit. The support unit includes a cylindrical support, a center shaft, and a seal ring which are combined into a single body. The opening/closing unit includes an upper hemisphere, a lower hemisphere, a spring, and a nut. The cylindrical support includes a filter mesh, a convex-concave portion, and a threaded portion, which are integrally formed with the cylindrical support. The seal ring is made of an elastic material, and has a convex-concave portion that is integrally formed with the seal ring. The center shaft has a stopper portion formed at an upper portion thereof and threaded portions formed at the top and bottom thereof, respectively. The center shaft is coupled to the threaded portion formed at the center of the filter mesh. A distribution shade for distributing waste matter is coupled to the stopper portion. The upper hemisphere is formed into a flat hemisphere, and has a center hole, a spring support shaft, and a convex-concave portion that are integrally formed with the upper hemisphere. The lower hemisphere has a coupling portion. The upper hemisphere is fastened to the center shaft together with the spring by means of a nut, and the lower hemisphere is coupled to the upper hemisphere. As described above, the apparatus of the present invention has a simple structure, and thus reduces the number of manufacturing and assembly processes, as well as manufacturing costs. The above-described structure of the present invention prevents the erroneous operation thereof caused by correcting means or waste matter during long-term use.
