Abstract:

In an apparatus for producing an absorbent article by stacking a fiber and a liquid-absorbing material which contains a superabsorbent polymer in a forming die and thus forming an absorbent body having slits and a method for producing an absorbent article thereby, the present invention inhibits the position aberration of slits in the absorbent body. This apparatus for producing an absorbent article is provided with both an absorbing material feed system (110) for feeding a liquid-absorbing material and an absorbent body forming system (120) for stacking the liquid-absorbing material in recessed parts (122) in a forming die (121) and thus forming an absorbent body (30). The forming die (121) has lamination regions (R1) for laminating the liquid-absorbing material and non-lamination regions (R2) provided in positions corresponding to slits (31) which is to be formed in the absorbent body (30). The absorbing material feed system (110) is provided with polymer feed ports (115) for feeding a superabsorbent polymer. The polymer feed ports (115) are arranged in a cross direction perpendicular to the transfer direction in such a state that the polymer feed ports (115) deviate from the non-lamination regions (R2).
