Abstract:
Surface abrader apparatus (10) includes casing (12), motor (20) mounted on casing (12), working tools (16), and operating mechanism (18) mounted to casing (12) and supporting working tools (16) outside of casing (12). Operating mechanism (18) is drivingly coupled to motor (20) for causing an impacting movement of working tools (16) against workpiece (S). Operating mechanism (18) includes elongated shafts (26) reciprocally mounted in casing (12) parallel to one another and having lower ends extending from casing (12), drive shaft (24) rotatably mounted in casing (12) between and parallel to shafts (26) and rotatably driven by motor (20), and coil springs (52, 54) and cam elements (38, 50) for causing lifting and releasing of shafts (26) and working tools (16) mounted on shafts (26) to produce impact movements of tools (16).
