Description:
AN APPARATUS FOR REPLACING A RACING WHEEL

Technical Field

The invention relates to an apparatus allowing the steering wheels of the racing wheel sets used especially in computers and game consoles to be easily replaced.

State of the Art

Various racing wheel sets are used in computers and game consoles. There is usually no possibility of replacing steering wheels in the products used in the state of the art. In the products which are able to be replaced, some problems arise when the steering wheels are assembled and disassembled. During the disassembly of the steering wheel from the main housing, the buttons and keys on the main housing start to work on their own, and there is no mechanism to prevent or terminate their self-operation in the instant products.

There are two cables which provide communication between the mother board in the main housing of the products used in the current art (for example, the racing wheel set) and the control board in the steering wheel mounted on said products. During disassembly of said steering wheel from the main housing, these cables should be manually removed and inserted again during each operation. In addition to this process, which requires manpower, another laborious task is to cut and solder the cables providing transmission during the steering wheel replacement.

In the product described in a video in the link https : //www. youtube. com/watch?y^¥0gC- 2-YlfM in the state of the art, the steering wheel is mentioned to be assembled again and attached via a screw after being disassembled from the mother card. The apparatus and assembly-disassembly system mentioned in said document are different from the product of the invention.

In a video in the link h in another state of the art, an apparatus is mentioned, which allows the replacement of the steering wheel in a quick manner. Thanks to the steering wheel apparatus used according to the invention, this is different from the apparatus mentioned in said document as the steering wheel is able to be detachably mounted without any need for screws, there is no microswitch in said part, and the original buttons and gear pedals are always fixed on the main housing.

In a video in the https;//www, youtube, .go w^ch?y^9ZNr jJzFd4 in another state of the art, a spacer is mentioned, which has a quick-release feature and is compatible with the main housing of the steering wheel set. As there is no microswitch in the part mentioned in said document, it is different from the product of the invention.

A quick release device for gaming wheels is mentioned in the utility model document no. CN212757198 in another known state of the art. As there is no microswitch in the technical elements mentioned in said document, it is different from the product of the invention.

It is necessary to develop an apparatus which provides the possibility of easily attaching and detaching the steering wheels in the state of the art.

Object of the Invention

The invention relates to the manufacture of an apparatus allowing the steering wheels of the racing wheel sets used especially in computers and game consoles to be easily replaced.

The apparatus of the invention prevents the buttons of the racing steering wheel from operating on their own when the original steering wheel is disassembled from the main housing due to the short-circuit function of the microswitch in the apparatus, and ensures the game to be continued in a controlled manner.

Thanks to the connectors contained therein, the apparatus of the invention is connected once during the assembly of the product and helps to obtain a sustainable system under all conditions.

Detailed Description of the Invention

The apparatus 10 of the invention comprises at least one main housing apparatus 1, at least one steering wheel apparatus 2, at least one nut 3 connecting (or fixing) said main housing apparatus 1 and steering wheel apparatus 2 to each other, at least one multi-core cable 4 for connecting the connectors contained in said main housing apparatus 1 and the connectors contained in the steering wheel apparatus, and at least one microswitch 5 causing a short-circuit in a first male connector 1.2 contained in said main housing apparatus 1 during the disassembly of a steering wheel apparatus 2 from the main housing (not shown in the figure). The apparatus 10 of the invention is an apparatus being connected to a device such as racing wheel sets.

The main housing apparatus 1 comprises at least one connector bearing 1.1 for fixing at least a first male connector 1.2 on the main housing apparatus 1, at least a first male connector 1.2 which transmits the data from a mother board (not shown in the figure) located in a main housing which has a function such as a game racing wheel set to the steering wheel apparatus 2 and is connected to a female connector (not shown in the figure) located on said mother board, and at least a first female connector 1.3 which is connected to a second male connector 2.2 in said steering wheel apparatus 2.

Said steering wheel apparatus 2 comprises at least a second female connector 2.1 which connects another control card (not shown in the figure) contained in a steering wheel to the steering wheel apparatus 2 and is connected to a male connector (not shown in the figure) located on said control card, and at least a second male connector 2.2 located so as to be connected to the first female connector 1.3 contained in the main housing apparatus 1.

Said microswitch 5 is connected parallel to the first male connector 1.2 positioned in the main housing apparatus 1. When the steering wheel apparatus 2 is disassembled from the steering wheel, the microswitch 5 short-circuits the first male connector 1.2 and prevents the buttons from moving independently. Thanks to said apparatus 10, different types of steering wheels may be assembled and disassembled quickly and easily.

The multi-core cable 4 enables the connection of said microswitch 5, the first male connector 1.2 located in said main housing apparatus 1, the first female connector 1.3, the second female connector 2.1 located in said steering wheel apparatus 2 and the second connector 2.2.

During the assembly of the invention, the first male connector 1.2 located in the main housing apparatus 1 is connected to the female connector (not shown in the figure) located in the main housing like the racing wheel set for once, and the second female connector 2.1 located in the steering wheel apparatus 2 is connected to the male connector (not shown in the figure) on the control card also located in the original steering wheel for once. By connecting said first female connector 1.3 to the second male connector 2.2, a communication is provided between the mother board contained in the main housing and another control card included in the steering wheel.

Said nut 3 provides the fixing of the main housing apparatus 1 and the steering wheel apparatus 2 to each other. During the fixing process, a short-circuit effect on the mother card located in the main housing is eliminated and thus, the original steering wheel operates normally, upon the engagement of the first female connector 1.3 located in the main hosing apparatus 1 and the second male connector 2.2 located in the steering wheel apparatus 2 and triggering of the microswitch 5 located in the main housing apparatus 1. Industrial Applicability of the Invention

The invention relates to an apparatus 10 allowing the steering wheels of the racing wheel sets used especially in computers and game consoles to be easily replaced, and is industrially applicable.

The invention is not limited to the foregoing exemplary embodiments, and one person skilled in the art may easily reveal the different embodiments of the invention. These should be considered within the scope of protection of the invention claimed in the claims.
